  This is one of those mixes that can be made as easily by hand-powdered sugar, cocoa and butter or margarine in the mixer-the old butter cream frosting. Any recipe from you mother's old cookbook is just as good-just use good cocoa'

  Try Miss Molly's frosting, it is very yummy, all natural and gluten free.. you can find it in whole foods in the fridge :)

  I was really disappointed by this frosting. It wasn't very sweet and was kind of crumbly. Does anybody know of another wheat/gluten/peanut free frosting that's good?

    I agree with you on the boxed Cherrybrook frosting mixes, but note their cookies and cake mixes are very good. I don't know of any other frostings that are wheat/peanut/gluten free but I read recently that Cherrybrook will soon sell frosting in a can and I'm hopeful that will be better...

    How about making your own? Its almost as fast as making a mix. My frosting is free of egg, dairy, soy, peanut, tree nut and gluten. Just organic palm oil shortening (1 cup), organic cocoa powder (1/4 cup), organic powdered sugar (4 to 6 cups) and organic vanilla (2 tsp), organic rice milk (2 tbsp). Start with all ingredients and only 4 cups of sugar. Add sugar to get the right consistency. It is rather very sweet, so you do not need much. The texture is just as rich and smooth as any other frosting. It takes minutes to make.

    We were not crazy over this frosting either. Too buttery for us. But I understand Cherrybrook Kitchen has ready-to-use frosting in a tub now. Perhaps it tastes better! (I hope so!)
