I like using cool whip as a frosting for cup cakes. I am not a big frosting or cake fan....but cool whip offsets the strong sugary flavor.
I really think Cool Whip is a love/hate product. It's not the healthiest for you, and I don't think there's anything "natural" in it, but it serves the purpose of a nondairy whipped topping.
I like baking with it, incorporating it with other ingredients, or straight eating it out of the bin. Yeah, I said it. With a big, BIG spoon. I can down this stuff!
Cool Whip + fresh berries = HEAVEN
Cool whip is a funny product come to think of it. It's remarkably good and doing what it does. It's strange...I don't think I've ever looked at the label growing up, but my family in Jacksonville, FL always buys this kind of Cool Whip around Thanksgiving or Christmas to top off our Pecan and Pumpkin pie slices and I've always been happy with the arrangement. But I never buy it myself at home.
Cool whip has some great things going for it ..... It's light, fluffy and a great creamy way to top off pies and puddings. Of course, if you know how to whip cream yourself, that's the best way to go because you get that Cool Whip flavor without all the crazy additives.... but honestly at the holidays, I generally enjoy whatever comfort foods my parents provide and Cool Whip is a fixture for that...
