I'm a vegetarian, so my favorite Thanksgiving dish is cranberry anything. I love the combination of sweet and tangy. Craisins are incredibly portable and convenient. I used them to make cranberry oatmeal bars last weekend, and sometimes I'll make my own trail mix by mixing in unsalted almonds. The only problem is that they have a lot of sugar, so I have to remind myself to go easy!

I'm crazy about Craisins! My wife has currently 9 months pregnant and thus far her only quasi-weird food combination is Craisins and salted, almonds... something about the combination of sweet craisins with the salty almonds. I thought cranberries were tart thus would nullify the sweetness but what do I know? I ain't pregnant...

I turn to these when I'm craving something sweet but don't feel like going all out and having something not so good for me like a candy bar. They are sweetened, almost a little too much, with just a hint of tart and cranberry to them. I eat them right out of the bag by the handful. I have made the recipe on the back of the bag before - Oatmeal Cranberry White chocolate chunk cookies - it is fabulous!
