I don't know how people eat this stuff by itself. It's too rich and to blah tasting. I'm thinking of mixing it with some homemade blackberry jam with reduced fat granola or a handful of nuts.
I was in Santorini, Greece last year and went to a little market to get breakfast for our family. By accident I picked up FAGE Yogurt. Since I speak a little Greek, the woman at the register raved about FAGE and she was right. Then I found it at Stop and Shop and Shaws in the USA. I began a diet this January and have lost 20 pounds and FAGE 0% is the key to my diet. For breakfast, every morning, I eat FIBER ONE CEREAL and FAGE 0%. It fills me up till noon. Also instead of ice cream at night, I have fruit with FAGE 2% Yogurt. If you are looking to lose weight remember that the whole FAGE is not low cal or low fat. Enjoy this stuff is worth the price.
Ever since a trip to Greece years ago, I've been obsessed with greek yogurt. I've tried a bunch out there, and think Fage is the best, especially their 2% and 0%. You can definitely see and taste the difference as you reduce the fat content, but Fage's yogurts somehow manage to retain a nice tartness and creaminess that other brands can't match.
This is also a great base for baby food--I put it in the blender with some fresh fruit. My 10 month old can't get enough. It's a great source of protein for her and an easier/healthier alternative to jarred food.
I love this yogurt! I turn to Fage when I am craving cheesecake or ice cream but don't want the fat and calories.
The small, individual packs are great for tossing in a handbag in the morning on the rush out the door.
This yogurt is the bomb. Seriously. Thick, custard-like, Like Harold said, it's easy to turn this into a healthier version of you favorite desert with some berries and yogurt! The flavor might shock some of you old school yogurt eaters who don't normally have yogurt so full, rich, creamy and with a natural taste of yogurt (instead of tasting like berries, key lime pie, etc) but the taste really is awesome. You can also use this yogurt easily at the center of any fruit and honey plate at a soire. Painfully easy to chop up strawberries and banannas and drizzle a little honey on top. Mmmmhh.
Until Fage started shipping to the US, most Greeks, including my family, had to make this kind of yogurt on our own. Very happy to see I don't have to wait a day or two for my yogurt to strain! This has a lot less whey than most yogurts people are used to, so it can be a bit of a meal in itself -- much fuller flavor, very creamy (but still very healthy for you). Excellent in Middle Eastern dishes, as this kind of yogurt is what we use!
