Precise winemaking techniques and aging methods which best showcase the grapes characteristics culminate in complex and robust wines. The Blue Label Merlot reveals a dark purple color and intense aromas of wild blueberries, raspberries, and spice. Succulent flavors of crushed ripe berries, sweet vanilla, and mild mint are enhanced by soft, smooth tannins. Enjoy this wine on its own or serve it with braised beef or farfallone in pesto sauce.   Being a flimmaker, I was skeptical when Coppola started making wine - and a visit to his absurd vinyard themepark-cum-family shrine, while entertaining, does not dispel that skepticism. However, his wines are darn good, and darn good values. The Blue label Merlot is a favorite - silky smooth, varietally correct, and complex enough to make you think you're quaffing a more expensive wine.

    Good merlot. A girlfriend gave me a bottle for a special occasion, and I did not share. The label is classy. I never associated this with film-making. Paul Newman is making wine, too.....

  This is a reliably good merlot, that is a great value. I think it tastes better after it opens up a bit. It has a berry flavor that isn't overwhelming, so it works well for dinner.
