These beans are a great go-to-food when you like to make vegetarian chili, it takes relatively few items in your house that can stay on the shelf awhile... Kidney Beans, Black Beans, Chili mix, and if you like... Tempeh. As far as canned black beans go, these suckers are great to have -- awesome on at home burritos, tacos, and many vegetarian creations, fantastic source of protein and low in fat :D I usually wash them inside the can and drain out all the juices. So good, especially with corn chips and cheese :D
These are my favorite black beans out there. I still rinse them when cooking, but they just seem better. I've tried the organic brands but they just aren't as good. I'd like to try soaking my own beans, but it just seems like too much of a hassle.
