Not quite pale ale. Where ancient alchemy meets modern-day science to create the best-tasting beer on the... (show more)
Just this past winter I started being a fan of Magic Hat's #9. I had them up at an apres ski type night out and they just hit the spot. I really liked the apricot taste to this beer, and the fact that it was light, not too fizzy, and very easy to drink. I was not having them with food at the time, but have had them on other occasions with a burger or a salad and it has gone pretty well. I would not recommend this beer if you don't like fruit beers, as there is most definitely a distinct apricot taste. But, if you're a fan of blueberry or other fruit beers, you will probably like this one too.
Flavors of banana, apricot. Flavor is fruity, acidic, sweet. This beer isn't very easy to drink with dinner because it's too sweet, but a nice treat at home with friends. I used to be a big fan of it but the sweet flavor is all-too-powerful these days. However, if my choices are limited at a bar, I'll usually shoot for Magic Hat. Though I always end the night with a more bitter beer because too much of this fruit taste can be overwhelming and leave a funny taste in your mouth!
