I tried this one in a blind taste test we did at Zeer.
This brownie didn't have as much taste to it as I like in a brownie, I found these to be good overall, but I found that it wasn't as flavorful. I felt like the taste was kind of .... bland? I don't have Celiac Disease, and I've heard that your palate changes overtime after you remove gluten from your diet (all of the testers seemed to like this one a lot overall)
When I compared them side by side with Betty Crocker's new GF mix and also, GF Pantry - I could tell it didn't have that chocolatey taste I like. However this was the only one that did not use dairy at all, so perhaps that can account for the issue. I thought it needed a little something.
These brownies beat glutinous brownie mixes hands down. I always have a spare package in the pantry to throw together if we are invited to someone's house. I almost always get asked for "my recipe." Definitely in the fudgy-brownie camp - which is where we like to be in our house.
These brownies taste better than the ones I've made from the Betty Crocker or Dunkin Hines boxes. I love this mix, it's easy to make and the final product is delicious. I am a choco-holic and like to add chocolate chips or peanut butter chips, or when I'm feeling daring, I add both. These are fudgy brownies and are not for people who like dry cakey brownies!
