I sell this bar. The flavor is great and has a little unexpected flavor boost due to the addition of star anise. I have a 'new' Venco licorice twist ( you can twist the 2" candy into two flavors/ one side soft the other harder)the star anise addition is - amazing!)
This bar has hard core fans in the organic natural market.
Personally it's not my favorite, but I carry over 300 different black licorice so my favorites vary! !:)
I haven't seen these but the importer is a good one and German licorice is awesome . Looking at the ingredient list I would say this is a stickier licorice than the Haribo wheels due to the agar. And although it's organic it has corn syrup. I've tried a brand name product that I think this is similar to and -eh -I don't care for the mouthfeel of the agar. I don't like the slippery jello/pudding feel... And and sell Lutefisk!! Yikes!
I would recommend any product by Edward & Sons Trading Co. Inc. They are a company that is 'taking the bull by the horns' in importing organic and natural foods.
What does this mean? Well they are labeling to USDA/FDA standards some of the top natural and organic products worldwide. Yea for them and Yea for consumers!
There are several products that I have replaced in my store with an Edwards product due to the labeling and also cost savings.
Mix 1 drinks has a orange carrot drink that has 9 servings of fruit/veggies 8 grams of whey protein and 8 grams of fiber. 115 calories a 11oz serving. Mix 1 is the brand, ask any store near you that carries natural foods and thy should be able to order it in for you. I just started carrying it because it has a really good shelf life (dates) unlike Naked Juice/Odwalla. Just an FYI because the local WW tipped me off on why they buy them!
