    Sun-Maid Natural California Raisins

What other raisins are there? We were raised on Sun-Maid and I can't imagine my kitchen without them. I never seem to have enough iron in my diet so my grandmother suggested raisins. I eat a handful every day in my oatmeal. When they're cooked up with a fresh bowl of Quaker Oats, nothing is better. I never liked Dole or any of the others. Sun-Maid is my choice!

Arm & Hammer Pure Baking Soda

Arm and Hammer - Wow!!! I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

This stuff is incredible. I use it in soooo many different ways. Here are a few:

Emulsify with liquid dish soap - make a paste and it will - remove stains from clothes, polish your finest silver, take the rust from tin, polish copper and help oxidize if you like a green patina, whiten grout in the tub or your backsplash and will make your porcelain tub sparkle again.
Make a paste with shampoo and wash your hair with it when you have product overload and heat damage. Don't do this too often, but every once in a while it's great for your hair. Also, it will assist in getting rid of the fungus that causes dandruff if you suffer a flaky scalp from time to time.
Forget about the facials ladies... give your skin a good cleaning
... with this when you feel yourself breaking out and it will take care of the problem in no time (sensitive skin types... don't fear!)
I add to my laundry when I'm washing sheets and towels, it makes them super fluffy and they smell so good!
I add to my dish washer twice a week (alternating with vinegar) to keep my glass dishes pristine!
I keep a box in the fridge and in the freezer - we all know that trick.
I mix it with Epsom salts and lavender oil when I'm in need of a relaxing bath.
And so much more! I love love love this stuff!

What do you do with baking soda? Not that I need more reasons to keep it in the house, but if I'm missing something I'd love to know!

    Nasoya Lite Silken Tofu

Over the past few months I have been making organic fruit smoothies once or twice a week after a good swim or work out. I started out using a rice protein powder but felt a little suspicious of the unidentified ingredients in that strange chalk like powder and wondered how good for you it actually could be. I did some research and learned that Lite Silken Tofu is a much better choice for those looking for a more natural protein source. This is also a great source of calcium. I usually blend 1 cup of Cascadian Farms mixed berries and cherries, a banana, a tablespoon of all natural almond butter, a teaspoon of flax seed and borage oil (blend), 2 tablespoons of ground flax seeds, two tablespoons of ground sunflower seeds, 1/4 cup of silken tofu and 1/4 cup unsweetened soy milk. This... makes an excellent snack while satisfying your body's need for omega 3s, 6s and 9s, calcium, vitamins A, B, C, D, K, potassium, magnesium, protein and more. If anyone else makes smoothies with silken tofu I'd love to know what you put in them!

    in the Milk Allergy community

The USDA recently produced a study that shows links between milk and heart disease, type 1 diabetes, anemia in children, prostate cancer, and asthma. Further, 75 % of those tested were found intolerant to milk and milk products. For many, milk can cause sinus infections, eczema, ear infections, irritable bowel syndrome and digestive problems. If you can't have milk and are worried about calcium, don't fret... there are things you can do to offset the lack of milk in your diet... don't consume cola, alcohol, caffeine, salt or excess animal proteins which leach calcium out of your bones and do consume rich greens, sardines, sesame seeds, nuts, and beans which are all rich in this mineral.
