I recently read The Omnivore's Dilemma, and since learning about the intimate details of commercial feedlots, I've tried to buy more "humanely" treated meat. Thus I was curious to try this bacon, given that it was advertised as antibiotic- and nitrate-free, along with grain-fed.
Well, it turns out that it's also super-delicious and flavorful. The downside is that it only comes in 8 oz. packages, whereas many other brands come in 12 or 16 oz. packages. I will buy this again, because although it's more than I usually pay for bacon ($4.49 for the aforementioned 8 oz.), but I feel that it's worthwhile to eat more "virtuous" bacon for how seldom I actually buy it.

I'm usually disappointed by a lot of BBQ chip brands, because most of the time it's just sugar and salt with a tiny bit of BBQ flavor/orange coloring. Blandsville. Not so with these chips. There's a ton of flavor with a nice, satisfying crunch. Yep, I'm hooked.

I'd heard about Wallaby from a few other people, and one day I found it in the store and decided to try it. My local Shaws only carries a handful of flavors, so I picked Orange Passion Fruit, Vanilla, and Peach. Unfortunately, I think the peach was past its prime, because something definitely tasted and smelled off when I opened it. The Orange Passion Fruit, however? Delicious. It's a nice citrusy, tropical fruit flavor without being too overpowering. One thing I like about this yogurt... (show more)
